Tom Fox
Tom Fox is a practical, results-oriented coach who helps leaders, teams and organizations perform at their very best.
As an executive, entrepreneur, coach and leadership author, Tom works with thousands of emerging leaders, supervisors, managers, executives and senior political appointees annually.
The leaders he supports successfully build high-performing teams, confront difficult professional conflicts, launch new initiatives and successfully navigate change, receive sought-after promotions, finally find that elusive balance between their professional and personal lives, and increase employee engagement to improve team productivity. Tom is certified and trained in the EQ-i 360, a variety of Center for Creative Leadership assessments, Ken Blanchard’s Situational Leadership Model, the Strength Deployment Inventory and the DiSC assessment.
As the Vice President for Leadership and Innovation at the Partnership for Public Service, Tom has enjoyed building and growing new ventures – having taken the leadership programs at the Partnership for Public Service from idea to implementation and now reaching approximately 5,000 leaders and generating nearly $10 million every year. Among those leaders, Tom has directly coached an exclusive group of senior political leaders, career executives and social entrepreneurs. He’s also focused on his own continuous professional growth having completed Marshall Goldsmith’s LEAD60 coaching program, the Leadership Coaching program at Georgetown University, the Aspen Seminar at the Aspen Institute, and the Sorensen Political Leaders program at the University of Virginia.
In addition, Tom writes the Federal Coach column for The Washington Post. Over eight years, he has interviewed approximately 500 leaders and regularly dispensed advice to the column’s tens of thousands of weekly readers. He’s a regular guest on the Government Matters television program, and his work has been covered by news outlets including The New York Times, NBC Nightly News and CNN.
His previous work in the public, private and nonprofit sectors, includes experience at Andersen Consulting, the Government Accountability Office, the U.S. Senate and the White House. Tomholds a Master of Public Policy degree from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy from Bowling Green State University.
